Frequently Asked Questions

What is Seitan?

Seitan is a protein-rich product with a meaty structure, made from wheat proteins and (in our case) lentils or beans, flavoured with a blend of herbs and spices. It originates in China and Japan, where it was mainly used in dishes for buddhist monks, and later grew common as a daily food and a specialty for millions of people. Seitan is a terrific alternative to meat, as you can consume it both cold and warm.

When can I order?

TAKE ME TO THE ONLINE SHOP.

Gastronomes or resellers: please email us for the catalogue.

Can I eat it raw ?

For the best experience, we recommend heating the seitan slightly before consumption. Simply sauté it in a pan with a bit of oil to achieve delicious, crispy edges. Once heated, you can enjoy it warm or let it cool for a tasty addition to salads and sandwiches. Enjoy!

How do I cook it ?

Simply pan-fry our seitan in some oil for a few minutes until it's warm and gets a little crispy on the edges.

Can I freeze it?

Please note that our product cannot be frozen, as it has already undergone a freezing process. Freezing it again may compromise its quality and effectiveness. We recommend storing it below 5°C and consume it before the date mentioned on the back of the package.

How long does it last?

As long as the package is closed, you can hold on to the date that's indicated. After the package is opened, keep it below 5°C and consume within 3 days.
